Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Social Science Global is committed to ensuring the originality and authenticity of all articles it publishes. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript. The journal's policy on plagiarism is clear and unequivocal, emphasizing the importance of original scholarly work.

  1. Definition: Plagiarism encompasses a range of activities, including copying another's work without proper citation, using another's ideas without proper acknowledgment, and paraphrasing another's content without giving credit.
  2. Similarity Check: All submitted manuscripts will undergo a thorough similarity check using advanced plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript found to have a similarity index of more than 20% will be subjected to further scrutiny.
  3. Acceptable Similarity: While a similarity index below 20% is generally considered acceptable, the quality and source of the matched content will also be evaluated. Direct matches from reputable academic sources, without proper citation, may still be considered as plagiarism, even if the overall similarity score is below the threshold.
  4. Author's Responsibility: Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions are unique and free from plagiarism. They should properly cite and acknowledge all sources and ideas that are not their own.
  5. Consequences: Manuscripts found to be plagiarized, whether in part or in full, will be rejected. In severe cases, authors may be blacklisted from submitting to the Journal of Social Science Global in the future. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue a retraction or correction, notifying readers of the infringement.
  6. Avoiding Plagiarism: Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools before submission to ensure their manuscript's originality. Proper citations, using quotation marks for directly quoted material, and ensuring original expression of ideas are essential practices to prevent plagiarism.

The Journal of Social Science Global believes that maintaining a strict stance against plagiarism is crucial for upholding the integrity and credibility of academic publishing. We trust our authors to adhere to ethical research and writing practices and to be aware of the consequences of breaching this trust.
